Sarah Fortescue leads as head designer of her design studio that specialises in residential and commercial interior design services. Her work spans the UK and across the world. Sarah’s expansive network within the design industry, is reflected in the quality of contractors, specialists, artisans, craftsmen and makers involved in each project. The resulting aesthetic is from her passion and understanding of architecture, culture and the individuals she works with.
Sarah founded her design studio in Hong Kong in 2011 where Sarah worked on bars, offices and residential projects. Functionality of space was key to her work in Asia and is an important factor within her design work. Sarah and her team work efficiently, practically, broadly and innovatively to ensure that each design is unique, considered and reflective of Sarah’s clients initial specification. Her ‘out of the box’ thinking results in each interior being unique and original and a broad range of project types undertaken by her studio.

Our interior design process
Our consultancy service means that you can dip in and out with Sarah when you need advice. Sarah understands that your home is such a personal thing, and with the appreciation that designing is such fun she understands why you would wish to do it yourself. Occasionally it is a great help to tap into someone with long standing experience and expertise who can advise you along the way when you need it and Sarah offers consultancy on an hourly basis. She understands the intrinsic detail required for house renovations and would like to be available to you so that you feel you have a warm and reliable expert to fall back on.

- After your initial inquiry by phone, email, or through our website, we will gather some details about you, your property, and your plans. Next, we will schedule a site visit to meet with you and explore your ideas in more detail.
- During this visit, we will discuss your goals, the intended use of the space, and what you hope to achieve. This consultation is free of charge.
- Following the meeting, we will send you a summary of our discussion along with a quote for the interior design services and our terms of engagement.
Home Styling & One-to-one Consultancy
Moving house and you wish it to be effortless, seamless, and organised for you? Sarah understands this entirely and will ensure that your move is made straightforward and that you simply ‘arrive’.
Sarah styles and curates clients’ houses so that they can move with great ease, and simply arrive with their new home is ready. Sarah’s expert design eye understands proportion and scale, texture and tone, and her studio is renowned for the harmonious way she curates her clients homes. The design studio can support you from here on, with our inhouse curtain making and upholstery team, furniture makers and beds. The studio can organise contractors and architects to complete any work required. The studio wishes to alleviate you and support you with our knowledge and experienced network of professionals.

Home styling – our process
Moving house or just want one on one consultancy?
- After the initial meeting to discuss how you would like Sarah to be involved she will come and visit you on site. If you are selling your house this would be there.
- If moving she will involve her team to log all furniture and artworks that are going to your new house. This can include soft furnishing such as curtains too.
- Prior to your move Sarah and her design team will configure your entire house. We ask that accurate floor plans are provided for the job, but we can organise them to be done too.
- On the day that the removal trucks arrive, Sarah is on site at your new home to curate your new home. You will simply then just need to arrive.
- Following on from this should you need items procured, Sarah and her team can do it all.

our statement
Sarah holds the natural world deeply in her heart. She is conscientious that the design industry is an opulent and can be a wasteful one. Sarah considers and evolves her design studio to ensure that it contributes positively to the change the world needs to feel.
We believe in the circular economy and we will use second hand items in our work where we can. This is our mission but we are not there of course as we produce new items where we can, but do it with conscious consideration.
We see the importance of a WORLD where we utilise what is in existence already – a hundred year old antique has stood the test of time, it tells a STORY and it holds the value of sentiment and care.
We are certainly not a sustainable brand, as that is an extreme declaration, but we are conscious and we are working to expand our own horizons, constantly forming relationships with companies who will support house emptying, where a lot often goes into land fill. These are exquisite pieces that can be used by you or I for decades to come.
Although conscious where we can be sometimes it is difficult to source items already in circulation. We do rave about British design however and wish to support the industries on our shores too.
